This year, the loan officer from New Jersey added to his outstanding resume when he was included among the “top 1% of mortgage originators.” This list appears in Mortgage Executive Magazine’s Spring 2021 issue.
“It’s fulfilling to know that I’m helping people achieve one of their biggest dreams,” Shimoni says.“I think being a loan officer is where my gifts are being best used.”
Shimoni’s sales doubled in 2020, setting a personal record of more than $70 million in volume. He and his colleagues at Petra Cephas stepped up to keep pace with “the most intense buying market in history.”
“I started out as a clerk at Ark Mortgage,” he says. “A year later, I became a loan officer. Since then, I have been dedicated to assisting home buyers in finding their ideal house.”
Now, 21-years later, Shimoni’s attention to detail makes the mortgage process smooth and enjoyable for his clients.
“The quality of origination drives the customer experience,” he says. “The better and more detailed I am at the beginning of the process, the smoother it goes. Gathering all the right information upfront is really important and makes a difference down the line. When you put quality in, you get quality out.”

Being available to clients all the time is another crucial aspect of his success. Shimoni prioritizes his clients and says the only thing that matters is getting them the best mortgage. He makes sure the financing process is quick, easy and stress-free.
“I am upfront with my borrowers and always keep them informed. I communicate with everyone clearly to ensure the process goes smoothly,” he says.
