Alibaba.com’s digital marketing lead has left to join Anheuser’s Busch’s new digital team at BEES. Mr. Spon-Smith was in charge of Alibaba’s digital marketing roll-out in the US where he worked for almost four years in New York.
My Spon-Smith said of the move, “I’m looking forward to joining the BEES team, they have an exciting opportunity to dominate the digital CPG market with the new platform”.
BEES is a digital ordering platform that connects restaurants, bars and other CPG vendors with wholesalers in brand new ways. With BEES, B2B customers have access to tools that will help get their business buzzing. The platform makes it easy to browse wholesaler or distributor catalogs and see all available products including your favorite beer brands, with real-time pricing and discounts.
The BEES platform allows customers to submit orders around the clock, on time, and schedule delivery dates at the customers convenience. As a retailer, bar owner, or restaurant owner, BEES allows customers to view and manage all your past orders and invoices in one convenient, centralized place.
Mr. Spon-Smith will be responsible for building out the platforms new marketing services including digital advertising and online promotions. Mr. Spon-Smith is due to start in August 2021.
