After years away from the music industry, ShowTime GMG will thrill hip-hop enthusiasts and make his long-awaited comeback this year.
In a stellar career, ShowTime GMG served up hit after hit, including Don’t Stop Me Now featuring Twista, and We In This, featuring Twista, Yung Joc and Gritz.
“We have great plans for our fans, and are currently working on a new album,” says Showtime GMG.
Showtime GMG took a hiatus from touring and recording after the murder of one of his best friends in 2014 and the death of his mother in 2015.
“These tragedies sapped my enthusiasm for music, and I took a break. The label understood and supported my decision,” he says.
Showtime GMG’s close bond with his fans and their undying patience for new music meant the door was always open for his return.
Who is Showtime GMG?
ShowTime GMG is a musician, hip hop artist and singer. He is regarded as a work of art in himself, and has a significant following on his various social media accounts.
In 2010, ShowTime grabbed the interest of Chicago hip hop legend and platinum recording artist Twista, who signed on to his GMG ENTERTAINMENT imprint.
ShowTime shot to fame after the release of his first mixtape, Rookie Of The Year. He followed this up with major successes with MVP and Sho Frazier.
These projects earned him notoriety and Showtime GMG rose to mainstream prominence and began touring.
Showtime GMG has been nominated for several awards, including the Chicago Music Award and the Ohio Music Award. He has performed in every US state, as well as in Calgary, Winnipeg, and Vancouver.
Showtime GMG was born in Chicago in 1988 and studied health sciences at Parkland College in Champaign, Illinois before turning his hand to music.
Sounding fresh and reinvigorated since his hiatus, Showtime’s old fan base has expanded rapidly. He has won the respect and affection of generations, and is regarded as one of the genre’s leading lights.
He is still Showtime, but he is now wiser and stronger, both personally and musically.
